amor sagrado y profano ( también llamada venus y la novia ) es una pintura al óleo de tiziano , pintado alrededor 1513–1514 . la pintura fue encargada por niccolò aurelio , un secretario del consejo veneciano de diez ( tan identificado porque su escudo de armas aparece en el sarcófago o fuente en el centro de la imagen ) para celebrar su matrimonio con una joven viuda , laura bagarotto . Supuestamente representa a la novia vestida de blanco , sentado al lado de cupido y asistido por venus en persona .
